Nail Polish Fav of the Week

This week I've been rocking Cover Girl Glosstini in Blue Hawaiian . I bought this polish a couple months ago in a clearance bin along with a few other shades for $1.49. I've been wanting to wear this for a while but I've been wearing lots of darker shades recently for Fall.

The quality is great they are long lasting and affordable. Would definitely recommend these to anyone.

Review on the Em by Michelle Phan Lash Gallery Mascara

Today I will be reviewing the new Em by Michelle Phan Lash Gallery Volumizing Mascara which was featured in November's Ipsy bag.

I was really intrigued when I found it I would be getting a Em product in my Ipsy bag because there is so much talk of it in the beauty community both good and bad. This is something I never would have purchased myself mainly because of the price which is what is so great about having a beauty  subscription box.
I just got the chance to open this up and try it a few days ago and I can definitely say I had some strong feelings towards this product.. not in a good way... Well I guess I will start with the packaging. I actually don't like the design of this mascara tube. I hate to say but I kinda think it looks a little cheap.. ( don't hate me.. lol) and it would not grab my attention in a store. It is monochromatic white with black writing very basic. When I first opened the mascara the first thing I noticed was the smell. I am curious to see if anyone had had this problem. It smells AWFUL like for real... I don't know if this was just a fluke or if it was a bad batch but it was gross. Even after I finished applying and put the tube away I could still smell it... the worst part is that I was applying at work and the girl at the cubicle behind me could smell it!!! Not sexy..

Putting the bad smell aside I didn't feel that it was that great, I mean I definitely have better drugstore mascaras that I've tried. I didn't find it all that volumizing and it definitely wasn't lengthening, even though it did not claim to be but I was completely unimpressed and would not recommend this and I am going to give it to my mom..lol

Random Products Haul

Hey guys! Just wanted to do a little random products haul that I've picked up here and there in the last few weeks.
First off I bought 2 more of those Joe Lipliners that I really like from a previous posts. These shades were not as good of a deal as the previous ones but they were still on sale for $2.49 which is not bad at all. I picked up the shade Coffee and Berry. Both are very fallish, I am really into the darker shades right now. Coffee is a really dark almost brown shade and Berry is a pretty pinky purple shade.

I also picked up 2 new nail polishes from Sinful Colors. I was checking out at Lawtons and they were on the counter for $1.49 and I couldn't resist. I got the shades Cold Leather- which is a matte navy blue shade. I actually did not know it was going to be matte, it did not say anywhere on the bottle, I normally don't like matte polishes bit I actually like this one. I also got the shade Strapped but I went to swatch it and the brush like broke off inside... I've never seen that before it's so weird so I'm going to see if my husband can fix it somehow..  But it is a dark forest green.

I also picked up the Tresemme Nourishing Rituals Protein Renewal Creme which is a leave in conditioning treatment. It says to leave it in for 3-5 minutes and I actually really like it. Vie been using it for about a week now. I actually bought it at Dollarama for $2 , my dollar store anyways has a ton of good hair products and I did check it's not expired.. lol.

I also just picked this up near the checkout at my grocery store. It is the Vaseline Lip Therapy in cocoa butter. It is one of those little itty bitty bottles that are so adorable. I think it was like $1.99 I actually really love it, it tastes amazing and is super moisturizing.

I have been meaning to pick up a new body spray for a while and noticed these on sale at Sobeys. It is just the Secret Scent Expressions in the scent cocoa butter kiss ( obviously I love the scent of cocoa butter) I believe it was on sale for $2.99 from $3.99. I love this scent it just smells so fresh, I wore it to work yesterday and one of my coworkers said I smelled like the beach so that's a good thing... I think.... lol.
The last thing I bought (which was not a good price BTW but I felt like I had no choice). I picked up the Body Clear Body Wash in Pink Grapefruit by Neutrogena. This little bottle was $9.99... so expensive to me for a body wash but I have been having really bad acne on my back lately and it is super itchy. I have tried everything.. even exfoliating my back one a week. My husband keeps saying it's because of all the hair products running down onto my back and I don't know he could be right but it's so uncomfortable and I really hope this works. If you guys have any affordable suggestions please let me know!

Novembers Ipsy Bag!!

Well it's that time again which is easily becoming my favorite time of the month! Ipsy bag time and I am so happy because I got my bag early this month. I didn't end up getting it last month until the 24th btut I heard they are shipping out to all the Canadian Ipsters first as it takes longer so that is great for me! Also this month is extra special as we received a bonus item which is a full size Em by Michelle Phan product! Woohoo!

Here is an overview of what I received and then I will go into depth a little more with each product.
Oh and here's what the bag looks like this month!! Its so freaking cute!!!

Let's talk about the coveted bonus Em by Michelle Phan product we all knew we would be getting this month. I got the Lash Gallery Mascara in the shade Brown. I almost forgot they even sold brown mascara, I just assumed it would be in black. I was a tad disappointed because I am not sure what brown mascara would look on me. I am still undecided on weather or not I am going to trade it or keep it to try out for myself. I was super impressed by the packaging though, very sleek and chic looking!

I believe we all received a nail polish this month from Nailtini, so everyone would be getting one of two colors, Cavier Cocktail and Cognac. I received the shade Cavier Cocktail which is a metallic silver shade. I liked both so I didin;t really favor towards one of the other. I mean I have a ton of nail polish and a few shades similar to this one but am still excited to try! I never tried a Nailtini Polish before so we'll see. I will update later with a pic of what it looks like on.

Now for the token lip product, I got the Be a Bombshell Lip Crayon in the shade Hot Damn. It is a bright red shade. (A lot of people complain that most lip products we receive are red shades but it honestly doesn't bother me at all as those shades work best with my skin tone.)
I wore this at work today and I loved the color and the feel of it on the lips but it is not really long lasting.. kind of a bummer but I will still wear it I will just have to carry it with me.

I am so glad I got a powder product this month because I love to try those. I got a Pixi bronzer in the shade Subtly Suntouched which I believe is the lightest shade which I am really happy about as I am pale skinned. I swatched it on my hand and it is really light, haven't gotten a chance to try it out on my face yet but I am definitely intrigued.

This is my third bag and my third Starlooks product, I'm guessing they must have a contract with that brand, Honestly it's not my favorite brand but this one is my favorite products of the three. It is the Gem Liner in Amethyst. At first I wasn't quite sure what this was for, if it was an eyeliner or a lipliner. I think this is definitely a little too craxy to be a lipliner but the texture is different that any other eyeliner I've ever tried. it is so smooth and creamy. I freaking LOVE this color though, its a gorgeous purple metallic silvery glittery shade. (nice explanation eh..lol)

The last item which is the only sample sized item I received is the HSI Argan Oil Leave in Treatment. I could have done without this but I have dry curly hair so it might do me some good, ya never know. I certainly will try it.

Nails of the week!!

Well girls it's time for my nail of the week post which features the nail polish I've been wearing most over this last week. At the beginning of the week I was wearing O.P.I.s Your Web or Mine from the Spiderman Collection. I like this shade as just something easy to put on in just one coat. As the week went on it started to chip so I added Nicole by O.P.I.s Confetti Fun which is a beautiful glitter topcoat that looks good over anything.

Excuse my horrible nails they are still messed up from the gel polish :S

Novembers IPSY Bag Review Coming Up Soon!! Just got it today! (and its a good one!)

My New Favorite Lipstick/Review Cover Girl!!

Hey girls and guys!! I recently used my air miles cash to do another little drug store run. I really wanted to get a fun dark plum color for fall since I've been seeing it everywhere in the beauty community on YouTube. After scoring the aisles I ended up in the Cover Girl section because I knew I had a $2 off coupon from www.brandsaver.com. I just happened to luck out that all Cover Girl products we're 20% off. I have anyways been a fan of the brand but I actually have never tried their lipsticks.

They actually had a great color selection but it literally took me two seconds to decide on the shade once I saw this. Since I went in knowing I wanted a dark purple/plum as soon as I saw this it immediately grabbed my attention and I knew it was for me! I ended up buying the Cover Girl Lip Perfection Lipcolor in the shade 335 Embrace , the regular price was $9.99. After my coupon and 20% off I think I ended up paying about five bucks or so..

I was not dissapointed by this product at all. It feels smooth on the lips and applies really easily. This literally later on my lips all day! I put it on in the morning before work and only reapplied once during the day. It was still on my lips when I got home and even still had a stain of color when I went to wash my face before bed. Oh and it smells really really good! I am so excited to buy more shades because I absolutely LOVE this and I highly recommend it!

#3.Rumors say this will be the bag color but I also think it could have something to do with this months theme as well, this would make an adorable bag! I really hope it is.

Review on NutraNail 5 Min Perfect Gel Manicure.

I finally had some free time to try the new gel nails kit I bought about a week ago. I purchased this at Layton's Drugs , reg price $14.99 on clearance for $5.00. They only had a few shades so I bought Moonstone which is a dark gray shade. I was actually really nervous to try this after I read the instructions because it did sound kinda complicated and I am not the best at doing my nails. I have never had a gel manicure so I wasn't quite sure how it would turn out.

So this kit comes with 3 bottles of product, the activator, the nail polish itself and a brush cleaner. It says to start out with clean nails (obviously) and to push back your cuticles and also make sure your hand and nails are lotion and oil free.

Step 1: Is to apply the activater to one hand, you are not to let this dry before applying the polish, it says to immediately apply your first coat of polish and then once your done change brushes with the brush from the brush cleaner bottle. It says to do this after every five nails. I started to get a little worried at this point because the polish goes on really watery and streaky but the instructions did say it would be streaky. One thing with this is that you have to move quickly.

Step 2: I repeated the same thing to my other hand and let them dry, At this point I thought it looked terrible! lol and I was skeptical so once they dried I started with the same process over again, for every coat you have to reapply the activator first and then immedialty apply the polish let and try and repeat. The second coat looked much better it actually started going on like real polish. I still think I'm going to go back in later with a third coat as I do see some streakiness still on a few nails

Ok so I did this 3 days ago and still have it on my nails. First thing is I hate the color,  normally I love dark colors which is why I chose this one but this grey is so lack luster, it's just not cute. Honestly I don't find it any shinier than regular polish with a top coat and it is so much more work for  pretty much the same result. This process was pretty time consuming and not worth it in my opinion. Also my nails started to chip on the first day and have only gotten worse! I would either stick with going to a salon and getting a gel manicure or just going with regular polish with a top coat.

I took photos of everything but I accidentally deleted them and obviously I cant retake them.**

UPDATE---> I went to remove this yesterday, I had to purchase the remover made especially for gel nails as regular nail polish would not work which sucked! It was $7.99 and it completely ruined my nails upon removal!! They are yellow cracked dry and it looks like it poisoned them! I do not recommend this to anyone and I would never ever use this again!

Another Avon Haul...I know I know already.... :)

Ok so my latest Avon order came in today while I was at work so I figured I would come home and blog about it. This one is pretty small but I figured I would share with you guys anyway. I believe I spent just over $20, I know Avon can sometimes be more expensive but I do only buy the items on clearance.

The first thing I got was the Avon Moisture Effective Eye Makeup Remover Lotion. It is a 60ml size bottle and I paid $3.99 for it. I got the new Avon books today with my order and found out that they have it on clearance for .99 cents now! So dissapointed but I guess if I like this I can stock up on a couple more. I have not used it yet but I opened it up, it doesn't really have a smell and it seems to be a lotion consistency opposed to like a watery consistency. I have been looking for a new makeup remover and just figured I would try this one. I will update if I do end up liking this.

I also got the Avon True Color Eyeshadow Duo in the Sunkissed Duo. I believe the shades are Shell and Refreshing Coral. I actually did not buy this for myself, I am slowly trying to accumulate some X-Mas gifts early so I am planning on giving this to my mom becuase she loves Avon. I still may swatch it, My mom wouldn't mind..lol. It contains a pinky shade and then a little peach shade which I think are good neautrals for my mom. The packaging is actually really cute, it is the standard black packaging with some cute little flowers on the bottom corner. I bought this for $3.99 and I believe the regualr price is $6.99.

(so sorry for the terrible pics guys I promise I am working on it!)

I also bought another 2 liners in the Glimmerstick collection, I already own the eyeliner in Blackened Night and also in Purple Haze and then 2 of the Glimmerstick Cosmic liners in Vivid Grey and Electric Pink which I hauled in my last Avon Haul. The first one I got was the Glimmersticks Liqui-Glide eyeliner in black which is supposed to be like the original but more creamy, it is a retractable pencil but it is supposed to glide on like liquid liner so we shall see.. I havent tried anything yet that I bought besides for just swatching them on my hand. These were both $3.99 a piece and I believe the original price is $7.99.

I also got the Glimmersticks Brow Definer in the shade B03 Dark Brown, once again it is a retractable pencil and I am interested to try. I bought this because I never use brow pencils, only powder and I wanted to branch out to see if I could improve my eyebrow routine.I will definitly be making sure I share with you guys weather or not I like this.

These next purchases were just mainly for stocking stuffers. I got two hand creams. One is the Moisture Therapy Soothing Oatmeal which is for dry, itchy skin. It is a 45 ml bottle and it was .99 cents. I have always loved this stuff, my mom always used it so I bought it for her but I'm going to get one for myself as well next time. The other one is just I think one of the regualr hand creams ,it doesn't have a name . It is just the one in the bright yellow flower container and it is also 45ml for .99 cents. I just got a little mini size of the Hot Apple Pie Bubble Bath it is 50ml and it was also .99 cents.

Ok so here is the recap:

Avon Moisture Effective Eye Makeup Remover $3.99
Avon True Color Eyeshadow Due in Sunkissed $3.99
Glimmersticks Liqui-Glide Eyeliner in Black $3.99
Glimmersticks Brown Definer in B03 Dark Brown $3.99
Avon Moisture Therapy Soothing Oatmeal Hand Cream .99
Avon Hand Cream .99
Avon Hot Apple Pie Bubble Bath .99
